ARGH! Another year has passed . . . and I'm back to post something I wrote for Snupin Santa 2008.  I've thought about writing quite a bit . . . even started reposting "To Teach Is . . . " on another site, but haven't been productive in that area, despite the raging plotbunnies and multitude of temptations. *makes note to change that for next year*

Here's another fic that I did a few months back . . . just bringing it over here so I think I'm getting myself organized.

Pairing(s)/character(s): Lupin/Snape
Challenge: Lupin-Snape LJ community, Darkfic Fest ’07, #3. Death? Why this fuss about death. Use your imagination, try to visualize a world without death! ... Death is the essential condition of life, not an evil. – Charlotte Perkins Gilman
Summary: There is one dark night each month for Remus, bringing the darkest of thoughts with it. Set post-HBP.
Disclaimer: I’m just playing in the universe JKR has created. She has it all.
Warnings: character deaths mentioned (not Snape or Lupin), alcohol-drinking and thoughts of suicide
Notes: Many, many thanks are needed: to  snegurochka_lee for the great quote to work with; to [info]maraudersaffair  for her constant reassurance when I wanted to give up and beta work; and to all the chat people who kept me from pounding my head into the closest brick wall (the fireplace next to the computer) when the characters didn’t want to cooperate!

Fic: Keep Moving (PG-13) [08 Dec 2007|09:40pm]
Wow! Over a month since I was last here! *grins sheepishly* Sorry about that. Anyway, here's another fic that was written earlier. I'm just reposting it here for my own sense of organization.

Title: Keep Moving
Rating: PG/PG-13 . . . strong language in use
Length: Approximately 4,000 words. One-shot.
Beta: MaraudersAffair – thanks SO MUCH, hon! (can I go back to my cave now?)
Summary: When the world you know shatters, all you can do is pick up the pieces and keep moving.
Disclaimer: The characters and anything else recognizable as the work of JKR belongs to her, not me. They’re just visiting my little world for a while.
Warnings: 1. If you’re looking for calm, quiet Remus with snarky, sarcastic Severus, then they will be totally OOC for you in this piece. 2. Language – strong language that matches the strong emotions. 3. No smut, romance or fluff – not even a kiss – in sight. Lots of negative, painful, difficult emotions.
Notes: This piece was written as a personal response to recent events. As such, it does have an American feel to it – I have no clue about the British educational system and if something like this would even happen to someone. In the United States, however, it does. Originally written and posted on the Lupin-Snape LJ community in May 2007.
 
Special thanks to theemmer  for being a “Severus” in my world for way too many times to count over the years. Also, thanks to all those in my world who have been in Severus’ spot. This “Remus” wouldn’t be here without any of you.

Title: To Teach Is . . .

Length: Approximately 6,700 words. Currently a one-shot, but has the potential to be a chaptered fic . . . if the author can be convinced to leave the safety of her dark cave and gather up the rampaging plot bunnies more often.
Pairings: none
Warnings: Ummm . . . anyone who’s had a teaching position might sympathise with the Potions Master. Otherwise, it’s really quite tame.
Rating: PG – some may consider it G, but I tend to rate higher than needed.
Summary: Severus begins his career as the Potions Master of Hogwarts. What will this new endeavor bring forth? Excitement? Danger? A love for students? Or just a new source of sarcasm?
Notes: Written for the “Snape After DH fest” with the prompt of Snape’s first days of teaching. Thanks to MaraudersAffair for the beta assistance. Thanks for the constant confidence boosts should also go to her, Auberus and many others! Without them, I wouldn't be posting!

*Breathes in* Okay, here goes. As I stated earlier, this journal will be my main/personal archive of the fanfic works I write. Right now, that's just HP works, but give it some time - a few others may show up.

So . . . we'll start with the very first fic I ever wrote AND posted for others to see. Trust me: I've written plenty - I have the boxes of handwriting stuff to prove it - just not allowed it to be seen by others until now.

Challenge: Fantasy Fest 2007; Story Prompt 8: Snape has an embarrassing secret and is willing to do anything to make sure Remus doesn't tell. R takes full advantage (smut preferred!) - but happy ending would be great.
Pairings/Characters: Lupin/Snape (pairing); brief visits by Fawkes, Dumbledore, McGonagall, Sprout, Flitwick and Pomfrey.
Summary: Severus knows where his comfort is, but he hasn’t found love, until it comes to him.
Disclaimer: The characters, setting and anything else recognizable as the work of JKR belongs to her, not me. I’m just using an overactive imagination with the guys.
Warnings: Um . . . definitely not fluffy. Most definitely angst. Extreme angst. Drinking alcohol is also involved.

What Am I Doing? [21 Oct 2007|04:06pm]
Ugh! What am I doing to myself?

Well, I did reach a decision. This journal will be for all of my fanfic work - at the moment, that's just the HP universe, but there are a few out there who are trying to expand my realms of fanfic . . . so keep your eyes open. Something not HP might sneak in.

So, to open this journal, I'll be posting the 3 fics that are already posted elsewhere (LJ, MNFF, AFF each have at least 2)in here.

For those of you who joined in the migration, the fics are the same - no editing or revising since they were originally posted wherever you saw them.

HOWEVER, feedback is very much appreciated from those of you who DID NOT leave feedback elsewhere. (If you're not sure, just leave a quick comment - doesn't hurt.)

So, that's the plan. I'll start with re-posting in here the three fics that are already done and out there. New fics are coming and they'll be posted here.

All right . . . I had an intention to post something of my writing . . . but that went out the window . . . new computer and I are still getting to know each other . . . apparently the "trial" version of MSWord only allows me to view my MSWord docs . . . argh. I'll install the update later.

Ugh! I sat down with every intention of writing something . . . and my mind has just shut down. I hate it when that happens. This is not a good time for a shutdown! I have at least 3 challenges/fics to write, plus a classroom newsletter to fill in, curriculum plans/materials for tomorrow to create and I haven't even started on any of the general household stuff - which reminds me, I think I have a load of clean laundry still hanging out in the trunk of my car . . . probably should bring that in.

So . . . yeah . . . um . . . anyone got a good way to kick-start a mind?

Okay, having multi-journals is going to take some getting used to, especially in the "remembering" department . . . and I still need to figure out what to do with them. I think this one is going to have any fandom writing I do - right now, that's just HP fandom stuff, but a few people are working on getting me into other fandoms.

Unfortunately, I don't have anything new to post - lots of thoughts going around in my head and I have prompts to work with . . . I just need to get motivated to write!

Hmmm . . . what am I going to do with 3 journals? Lots of writing, that's a given . . . but about what? I don't know . . . Ugh! I'm not good with decisions!
